Team Golmaal Again cannot stop smiling as their film has witnessed an exceptional opening at the box-office.
The film has set the cash registers ringing as its churned out approximately Rs 33 crore on the first day of its release. Can you beat that?
If these early
figures are anything to go by then this Ajay Devgn-Rohit Shetty Diwali bonanza
has become the highest opener of 2017, beating the likes of Salman’s Tubelight,
Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Harry Met Sejal, Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem
Katha.
While masses are enjoying the out-and-out comedy drama, a few critics have given a mixed response to the film. Author and SpotboyE.com’s film critic Khalid Mohamed gave only1.5 stars to Golmaal Returns. He labelled the film as Rohit Shetty’s no-brainer and said, “Ajay Devgn, Parineeti Chopra and aha Tabu are out to woo the lowest-common denominator.”
The first instalment of the franchise, Golmaal: Fun Unlimited released in 2006 which starred Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Sharman Joshi, Tusshar Kapoor and Rimi Sen in lead roles. The film was much appreciated by the janta.

The next
instalment Golmaal Returns (2008) had Kareena Kapoor, Amrita Arora and Celina
Jaitley joining the star cast along with Ajay Devgn, Tusshar Kapoor and Arshad
Warsi reprising their roles. Meanwhile, Shreyas Talpade stepped into the shoes
of Sharman Joshi. Golmaal Returns was also declared a hit.
However, the fourth instalment, Golmaal Again, which has new entrants like Tabu and Parineeti Chopra, has broken all records and marked an exceptionally huge opening at the box-office.
